Chapter 1: THE ISSUE
1.1 Introduction
Baby dumping means that the acts of throw away the babies at any places without take care the babies with the intent to dispose of the baby. Baby dumping is a social crisis and has a chronic increase as many cases are occurring in Malaysian society. Child dumping is the practice of dumping offspring outside of legal adoption. The dumped child is called a foundling or throwaway. According to a reliable statistics; one baby is dumped every week. Causes include many social and cultural factors as well as mental illness.
The most probable reason babies are abandoned is because of premarital sex. Most usually it is the young adults that are not ready to have a baby and take care of it. Everyday there are several numbers of infants being found in rivers, dustbins, and even sometimes somewhere that we cannot imagine such as traveling bags. These babies are died in the situation that cannot be accepted by most of the people as the ways of killing these babies are too cruel and cold-blooded.
Baby dumping brings a lot of negative effects to the society. As we know, teenagers are our hopes by which they will be the leaders of tomorrow and they are the one who will lead the world. But, sadly things go negative sides. Teenagers are not naive as they should be anymore. They show a bad and cruel attitude towards problem solving. They kill babies and their hands are full of reddish bloods. Teenagers create a harmful environment and break the order of peaceful lives.
As a citizen, the duty bound on all responsible to sensitize our fellow young girls end up this negative behaviour and manners. It is indeed pitiful to the unwanted babies to be dumped in such a horrible ways as they should have enjoyed the luxuries of life which it is not fair to deprive their right to live.
1 The Issue
1.2 Problem identification
The number of abandoned babies who are found dead had been increasing steadily over the last five years. Based on Bukit Aman Police Headquarters statistics found a total of 580 babies were found dumped between years 2000 to 2006. This number of cases increase every year where as much as 65 baby dumping cases has increased to 83 cases in the year 2006. In the first 5 months, almost every day there are reports on dumped baby cases. Baby dumping that causes the child's death will now be classified as murder, an offence which carries the death penalty in
